It's just not true at all. Undergoing anesthesia in the hands of a nurse anesthetist or an anesthesiologist leaves you with about a 1 in 80,000 chance of having any recall - and usually it's with trauma surgery and pregnancy. While I admit, I like the players in this movie - I wish the screenwriter could have left out an attempt at a false piece of information used as a total ploy to freak people out by telling a complete lie. Awareness under anesthesia is possible, yes. But RARE. Nonetheless, the movie has potential to be a spine-chiller - hoping that the ending is not lame as you had said.
